You may (or may not) have noticed a change to the email composer in People. We recently removed the “code” formatting option since it did not always work as expected. The reality is that it provided mono-spaced “code” formatting like this, but most users expected it to allow full HTML formatting, which it did not. (HTML formatting can be done with our Mailchimp integration though!)
