Create Report to Show List Information

Reports allow you to print your list in a variety of ways. Choose any of our built-in reports or create your own custom report.

Once you've created a list, select Actions and choose Print List to see the options of how to print your list.

Printing Lists as a Report

Choose a report or create your own custom report.

Print list or edit report
  1. Choose the report you'd like to print. You can choose from our Built-In reports or any custom reports your church has created.
  2. Download the report as a PDF file or view it in your web browser as web page.
    • If you plan to print it, PDF is usually best.
    • When editing a custom report, viewing it as a web page allows you to keep it in a separate tab and refresh the page when you make changes.
  3. Users with Manager permissions can edit or create new reports.

Edit or Create a Report

Select edit reports to be taken to a list of Custom Reports, if you've created some then select New Report to create your custom report.

Name your report then choose a built-in report as the base of your custom report.

Choose a template

Select Create Report to edit the code.

  1. To help you know what fields (tags) are available in your report, the sidebar groups them into headings. Click a heading to see the specific tags within that heading.
  2. Click a tag to insert it into your report. A tag can be a single field or an entire block of code to loop through all fields in a particular object.
  3. Edit the code of your report.
  4. Select Delete to remove the report from your custom reports. Deleted reports cannot be recovered.

When you've finished making edits, select Save to save your report and be taken back to your custom report list.

Access Custom Fields in a Report

You can get to the data in your custom fields in two ways:

By looping through all of the tabs for a person:

Or you can directly access a tab in this format:

person.custom_tabs.tab_name.field

For example, if you have a tab named "Emergency Info" with a field named "Emergency Contact", you could access it directly with:

person.custom_tabs.emergency_info.emergency_contact

Sorting

You can sort the people in your report using the "sort" filter. For example:

If you are sorting by name, you will want to use a case insensitive sort:

{% assign sorted_people = people | sort_natural: 'last_name' % }

Reports are made using a combination of 3 technologies:

  1. HTML - The basic building block of all web pages. HTML provides the structure for your document.
  2. CSS - The standard way to style all web pages.
  3. Liquid Markup - A minimal programming language created by Shopify to provide content to your report based on custom data.
