Clear communication is essential for your ministry, and reliable email delivery is a big part of that. We’ve been hard at work improving email deliverability across Planning Center and we’re excited to introduce a new feature to help you troubleshoot email issues directly from profile pages: Email Delivery Warnings
Now, if there’s a problem sending email to a specific address, you’ll see a yellow warning icon next to the email address on a profile. Previously there were a few different red icons that had different meanings and they all kind of worked in different ways. Now, you'll see a single yellow warning icon where there's anything that could prevent email from being delivered.
Clicking the icon will show you detailed messages about the issue, whether it’s:
- Email to this inbox keeps bouncing (due to a full inbox, an incorrect address, or a flaky email service provider)
- The recipient has unsubscribed from certain types of emails
- The recipient has marked Planning Center emails as spam
- The recipient is a known spammer themselves
Each warning includes clear explanations and actionable next steps to help you resolve the issue. Here's an example with lots of overlapping issues:
Since email delivery affects more than just People admins, we’ve also added these warnings to the profile edit view across all of Planning Center. This way group leaders, bookkeepers, worship coordinators, and other team members can easily see when there's a problem.
We hope this update gives you and your team the tools you need to keep communication flowing smoothly. Stay tuned for even more email improvements—and happy emailing!
